Silcarb

Crucible Type Tilting Furnaces (Copper, Aluminum, and Zinc)

Efficient, durable, and precision-controlled.

OVERVIEW

Crucible Type Tilting Furnaces

Silcarb’s Crucible Type Tilting Furnaces are designed for high-efficiency melting and pouring of non-ferrous metals like Aluminium, Copper, Zinc, and Brass, with capacities ranging from 200 kg to 1 tonne. Engineered for seamless operation and extended service life, these furnaces feature Silicon Carbide Heating Elements, ensuring precise temperature control through PID controllers and phase-angle firing thyristor drives. This combination minimizes energy consumption and operational costs while maintaining consistent performance. The hydraulic tilting system enables smooth and controlled metal pouring at the lip axis, while spouted Silicon Carbide Crucibles facilitate easy molten metal flow.

Built for durability and safety, these furnaces include high-temperature Viteon seals and dampers, a built-in “crucible failure” alarm, and interlocks for power failure during pouring. Refractory insulation with microporous and low-density materials extends furnace life, making it a cost-effective solution. Additional customization options such as stirring mechanisms for chip melting and nitrogen purging for oxidation prevention further enhance efficiency and usability, ensuring optimal performance across various applications.

FAQs

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace ?

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace (Silicon Carbide Crucible). These are mainly used in melting and holding high magnesium alloys of Aluminum and Copper. Silicon Carbide Heaters are used as the main heat source. Crucible furnaces are small capacity furnaces used for small melting applications or exclusively as holding furnaces. The metal is placed or poured into a ceramic crucible which is contained in a circular furnace that is fired by a gas burner or heated by electric elements/
