Aluminium Titanate

Low-Wettability Solution for Molten Metal Handling

OVERVIEW

Aluminium Titanate

Silcarb manufactures high-density Aluminium Titanate at its plant in Bangalore. All Aluminium Titanate products that Silcarb manufactures are isostatically pressed. This material has a unique combination of thermal and physical properties. They are made by combining highly pure aluminium oxide and titanium oxide into a microporous material by a precision-controlled sintering process. Due to the presence of porosity and properties like low thermal resistance, the component has very good thermal shock resistance. This product has poor wettability with molten metals, making it ideal for foundry and metallurgical applications. These are then dried and fired in our state-of-the-art sintering furnaces to temperatures of 1500°C.

The Aluminium Titanate ceramics are available in different product forms and can be customized to different standard sizes and geometries to suit a variety of applications.

FAQs

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace ?

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace (Silicon Carbide Crucible). These are mainly used in melting and holding high magnesium alloys of Aluminum and Copper. Silicon Carbide Heaters are used as the main heat source. Crucible furnaces are small capacity furnaces used for small melting applications or exclusively as holding furnaces. The metal is placed or poured into a ceramic crucible which is contained in a circular furnace that is fired by a gas burner or heated by electric elements/
