Tower Melting Furnaces

High-Efficiency Industrial Furnaces for Molten Metal Production

OVERVIEW

Tower Melting Furnaces

Silcarb manufactures Tower Melting Furnaces with capacities from 500 kg to 10,000 kg and a throughput of up to 3,000 kg/hour. Designed for efficiency and simplicity, these shaft furnaces use industry-best castable and backup linings. Charging is done via skip chargers (top-loading) or push-charging systems (end-loading), with burners positioned at the bottom for optimal fuel efficiency. Heat transfer occurs through direct impingement and convection, ensuring effective melting. Some models incorporate a grate system for gradual heating, improving thermal efficiency.

Silcarb offers both stationary and tiltable tower furnaces. Stationary furnaces feature automated pneumatic tap-out systems for minimal turbulence and dross-free metal extraction. Tiltable furnaces use high-capacity hydraulic cylinders with dampers and high-temperature seals for safe metal tapping. With a 50% fresh ingot and 50% shop floor return charge ratio, these furnaces achieve a fuel efficiency of 500 kWh/ton of aluminium melted.

FAQs

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace ?

Silcarb manufactures a Rugged Crucible Type Aluminium Melting Furnace (Silicon Carbide Crucible). These are mainly used in melting and holding high magnesium alloys of Aluminum and Copper. Silicon Carbide Heaters are used as the main heat source. Crucible furnaces are small capacity furnaces used for small melting applications or exclusively as holding furnaces. The metal is placed or poured into a ceramic crucible which is contained in a circular furnace that is fired by a gas burner or heated by electric elements/
