Tower Melting-Cum-Holding Furnaces

Silcarb manufactures Tower Melting-Cum-Holding Furnaces designed for die-casting applications where centralized bulk melting is not ideal. These compact furnaces integrate seamlessly with pressure die-casting and gravity die-casting cells, ensuring continuous metal supply with minimal heat loss.

The furnace is divided into three key zones:

  • Melt Shaft: Uses waste gases to preheat the cold charge, enhancing thermal efficiency.
  • Holding Bay: Maintains accurate metal temperature with burner or electric heating (top-heated or immersion system).
  • Tap-Out Well: Equipped with a filter and degassing system for high-quality molten metal output.
  • The system features automated controls, including metal level detectors, synchronized doors, and energy-efficient burners, ensuring precision and efficiency.
